The 2012 Round of Wales was the ninth round of the 2012 TM Master Cup season. It was held at the new Olrhain Dewi Sant circuit, now named Launch Energy Motorpark, in Wales.

Pre-Race Storylines[edit | edit source]

The Master Cup Manufacturers' Association, rebuffed after requesting provisional entries for the 2012 Karjala Grand Prix, once again petitioned Master Cup officials to give provisional positions for the next major event of the season, which will be the Round of Indianapolis. They again requested 15 spots be reserved for entries with street car equivalents for that race.

Unlike Karjala, however, the MCMA's request came with a threat: if the request was denied, it, along with the teams affiliated with MCMA members, would boycott the Round of Michigan at the West Midland Bullring. There hasn't been an action of this magnitude at a Master Cup race since the Texas strike in 2009.
