Hotshot Racing is a racing team currently competing in the ARLA Elite Series. The team made its ARLA debut in 2012 with Barney Ward as the team's part-time driver and its owner.

2012[edit | edit source]

Hotshot Racing intended to make its debut in 2012 with a pair of part-time efforts, one piloted by Ward and the second by former Xenos Development driver Henrietta LaVerne. Unfortunately, budget shortfalls forced the team to reduce operations to one car, the one Ward would drive.

Ward did not make a hero of himself at his team's debut at Road America, going off-track frequently in Race 1 and being a general nuisance. Ward claimed he was having difficulties because, as a former English touring car driver, he had never driven a car like the ones ARLA use and he felt he might be somewhat out of his depth.

After the aftermath of events that took place in the Yellowstone 150 at Buffalo Downs, ARLA officials decided to revoke Ward's competitors' license after he had caused a number of avoidable accidents in his race. Ward then left the team after a falling-out between himself and members of the team.

The team returned to ARLA at the 2012 Rockford 200 with new driver Kelly Posadas. Posadas advanced to the B-mains after an 8th-place finish in Heat 3. She will remain with the team in 2013.
