TM Master Cup Series Driver

Matthew Scott Taylor is an American racecar driver from Seattle, Washington. Taylor is best known for winning the the 2004 TM Master Cup Series Championship, scoring four consecutive wins. He finished runner-up to long-time rival Brian Sendack in the 1999 TM Lights season, but in a twist of fate, Taylor beat Sendack to the 2004 TM Master Cup title by 11 points. Taylor's friendly rivalry with Brian Sendack continues to this day, even though neither he or Sendack have regular rides anywhere.

He is not related to Cameron Taylor.

TM Master Cup career[edit | edit source]

2007-08[edit | edit source]

Taylor drove the No. 44 Advance Auto Parts Inglesby for FLASH Racing. He would remain with the team through the 2008 season.

2010[edit | edit source]

Taylor drove the No. 12 Delano Gasnier for Majestic Motorsports. Despite popping up in the top-10 in points occasionally, Taylor did not score many big results. His season came to an end at Talladega after a huge crash triggered by Zack Duff and Azuma Kazeyama. Michael Sykes replaced him for the final race of the year.

2011[edit | edit source]

In 2011, he raced part time in the TM Master Cup Series for BKR Motorsports driving the abysmal Fortner. Fortner as a company folded during 2011 after parent company Lenard dissolved it. Taylor remained optimistic about the program but was scathing of the Fortner company's 'spineless' efforts to develop the car.

2013[edit | edit source]

Taylor was listed as the driver for Rick Milligan Racing's effort for the Round of California. It is unknown if he is going to be in the car long-term or if this is a one-off deal.

TM Lights career[edit | edit source]

2012[edit | edit source]

Taylor made a last-minute start in TM Lights during the chaotic race in Quincy. He proved he still had what it takes to win, starting on the outside of the front row and running a clean race until a fire took him out late in the race. Due to the ridiculous amount of attrition, Taylor finished 18th and scored points.
