Allyson Ann Wetherbee (born August 27th, 1990) is an American race car driver from State College, Pennsylvania. She has competed in the RROL Elite Series and Formula Overdrive, but will return to her roots in 2013, racing for her family-owned team in the FARCE Modified Series.

She holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State.

Early Career[edit | edit source]

Wetherbee got her start racing in 2006 behind the wheel of an entry-level open wheel car a few hours away from her home at Lime Rock Park. She moved up to the American Formula Inglesby series in 2009, where she won a race at Mid-Ohio. She also competed in several dirt late model races when she had free time. Her performances led to interest from both stock car and open wheel teams at the higher levels.

RROL Elite Series[edit | edit source]

Eichholtz Atlantic Racing signed her to a deal to drive the #84 Saar Eagle in the 2012 RROL Elite Series season. Her average results, along with her opportunity in Formula Overdrive, have led both parties to terminate the contract for 2013.

Formula Overdrive[edit | edit source]

Wetherbee took over the #49 car in Formula Overdrive after Des Inman quit due to poor results. Wetherbee's performances proved she had capable speed, but at times she was a weapon on the track, causing two heavy accidents at Las Vegas. She will not return to formula Overdrive in 2013.

FARCE Modified Series[edit | edit source]

Allyson will return to her roots in the FARCE Modified Series in 2013. Her decision to race in the series was based upon her love for the dirt tracks, as well as the fact that State College Raceway, a racetrack only a few miles from her childhood home, is holding a race.
