Biography[edit | edit source]

A son of a former TMMC race engineer, he was exposed to the world of motorsports at a very early age. Growing up, he found himself very successful at the karting level. At only 16 years old, he won the CIK Karting World Championship in 1997 and finished runner up the year after. In 1999, Brinson won the Barber Pro series and competed in several endurance events with the Panoz orginization. Along with racing successes, Brinson proved to be a very hands on driver, displaying a keen interest of learning the very workings of whatever he drove.

Homeschooled his entire life in order to devout time to his blossoming racing career, he then made the controversial decision upon earning a high school diploma 1999 to pursue an engineering degree. This shocked the American racing world as Brinson had been billed one of the U.S's hottest young prospects. He would attend college with the goal of creating his own tuning company rather than following a career as a racing driver. He graduated from Old Dominion University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology. Despite attending college, he managed to find enough time to run at local Langley Speedway and Motor Mile Speedway during the summer months, especially as Brinson discovered a new interest in oval racing. Brinson also remained sharp by driving in the Rundagrip World Touring Challenge.

Shortly upon graduation from college in 2004, Brinson created Brinson Engineering. From relative humble beginnings, it has since become a respected aftermarket tuner. Focusing primarily on compact vehicles, the company produces high performance suspension and engine parts backed by racing research.

Brinson was a successful owner/driver in the RWTC from 2006 to 2010 until lack of sponsorship killed off the program despite multiple race wins in that timeframe. Since then, Brinson has stayed primarily dormant as a driver, only attempting the 2012 ARLA Rockford race and select GT events.

In 2013, Brinson announced his return to full time racing as an owner/driver in the TM Lights series

Personal Life[edit | edit source]

Outside of racing, Brinson is a avid automotive enthusiast. He owns a large collection of classic cars, many of which are driven daily. Brinson also collects former race cars and enjoys taking them to the track.
