A Green-white-checker finish is a rule implemented in many levels of racing in the world so that the race could end under green flag conditions. Unlike any other restarts, the field is set up double file with all lapped cars eliminated and any damaged cars are repaired.

TM Master Cup and TM Lights[edit | edit source]

Instead of adding laps to the end of the race, the TM Master Cup Series and TM Lights will red flag all races that would end under caution and restart after the track is cleaned up. This was first used in the first TM Lights race of the 2013 season. TM sanctioned races will not go beyond the regulation distance, and, because of the red flag rules in the TM Master Cup series, all lapped cars and cars the stewards deem to be too damaged to continue are removed from contention.

ARLA[edit | edit source]

It was announced that as of the 2012 Rockford 200 that the rule would be in place. Under ARLA GWC rules, the race is red-flagged once the leaders end the advertised race distance. The race will then restart with two laps added to the race distance. If the yellow flag comes out on the first lap of the GWC, the process is repeated as many times as is necessary to ensure that the race ends under green. It was first used by the Elite Series during the second race at Montgomery.

Dash Cup[edit | edit source]

Dash Cup has imposed a Green White Checkered rule for their oval races, with only one attempt. However, in this one attempt, there are no yellows so the race is confirmed to finish under green. It was first used in the second race of the 2013 Mallory Grand Prix.
