The Nigerian Grand Prix is a non TM Master Cup, Vaughn Stock Car Championship, ARLA sanctioned event that has caused contoversy.

A group of Nigerian businessmen, known as Kaduna People's Investments, are reportedly planning on hosting an exhibition race for teams competing in major stock car series later this spring.

According to an e-mail they sent to several ARLA, VSCC, TM Lights, and TM Master Cup teams, the race will be held at the aging Zaria Autodrome at a soon-to-be-revealed date.

The e-mail also claims that all participants will receive part of a hefty purse, with the winner to collect more than $2,000,000.

Many ARLA Drivers have refused to enter the event due to it's suspiciousness, and claim it's "one of those Nigerian E-Mail scams". ARLA CEO Jen Walker has urged teams not to enter the race, saying "while the supposed prize that they're offering might sound tempting, I hope everyone will know better than to believe that they actually have that kind of money."

Despite this, ARLA drivers Doom-O and Derek Dudding are among the 19 drivers registered.

Cameron Taylor had at one point entered a team with him and Michael Gallagher as the drivers, but withdrew after he said "I smell something shifty".

The race has since been cancelled.
